2018
It's that time of year! We shot our cardio warm up dance video to "That Power" by Will I AM this morning! Check out our best dancers ranging from Kindergarten through 4th Grade in the video below. I am so proud of them! These kids are not only dancing but speaking in sign language as well. See if you notice any words in sign language that we are using in our dance and list them in the comments below.

Individual Fitness Goal Setting:
If you WORK HARD you can reach your GOALS! But you have to be willing to do the work!
Effort = Success
We pre-assessed our ability levels during warm ups in a competition against a partner. We set fitness goals based on this assessment. We worked hard all third quarter to meet our goals and then we did a post assessment. We linked effort with goal achievement.

Below you can see our Student Lead Warm Ups. Students can design their own warm up session using appropriate exercises to elevate their heart rate to prepare for exercise. They can take on leadership roles and instruct the class. They can publicly speak in front of a group. After leading the group they had the opportunity to sign the poster below for the whole school to see!
2016
Check out Mrs. Ellis's Kindergarten class, Mr. Dorsey's 6th grade class, Mrs. Barber's 4th grade class, and Mr. Ruoff's 3rd grade class doing the "Whip and Nae Nae" dance PHYSICAL EDUCATION VERSION. We used this dance as a warm up and the kids LOVED it! I invited the classes who did it the best to come in and tape this video as a whole group on our PBIS day. Great job everyone! My favorite moment was at the end of the dance when my students were getting lined up to walk back. My older students waited outside the door for my younger kiddos to give them a high five as they walked back to their classrooms. Great role models!
